Pope Benedict On St. Charles Borromeo, Friend Of The Jesuits And Reformer

From a wonderful lady blogger Laura K. at All You Will Hear Are Castanets her post entitled, The Ratzinger Report: Saints.

The Holy Father Benedict XVI (as Cardinal Ratzinger) said,
For me Charles Borromeo is the classic expression of a real reform, that is to say, of a renewal that leads forward precisely because it teaches how to live the permanent values in a new way, bearing in mind the totality of the Christian fact and the totality of man.

St. Charles Borromeo was not an "SJ" although he did have a great relationship with the Society. He is one of my favorite saints!
